Today, I wanted to share a little bit about my personal approach to training, especially how it has evolved over the years, including my time competing and how I use the Zeus Method now. My hope is that it might inspire you to look at your workouts in a new light.
Even during my competitive days, I rarely followed programs to the letter. Instead, I allowed myself the freedom to adapt, modify, or even skip certain workouts based on what felt right for me at the moment. This might sound unconventional, but here's why I believe it's the key to a fulfilling fitness journey.
Yesterday, someone asked me about the benefit of doing a specific workout, a "justabar" routine, wondering if every session needs to have a defined goal. My response was simple yet something I deeply believe in: "Don't underestimate it, and not every workout has to have specific goals. Sometimes, having fun and getting an awesome workout is enough." This philosophy has shaped not only how I train but also how I designed the Zeus Method.
Fitness, in my eyes, shouldn't turn into a chore. When we start to view our workouts as tasks we must check off, we lose the joy and passion that drew us to them in the first place. For me, the magic happens when I let enjoyment and fun guide my sessions. The results? They become a byproduct of my happiness and dedication.
Imagine giving yourself the freedom to do exactly what you want during your workouts a couple of times a week. That's how I use the Zeus Method Training app—it's like an encyclopedia that I dive into, looking for something that sparks excitement, fits my available time, and feels like fun on that particular day. This approach leaves me feeling relaxed, stress-free, and, most importantly, satisfied with my workout.
So, I pose these questions to you:
Why do you workout?
What are you working out for?
If your answers revolve solely around goals and results, I encourage you to occasionally let fun and enjoyment take the lead. You might be surprised by how liberating and rewarding it can be.
Remember, the journey is as important as the destination. Let's make sure it's a journey we love every step of the way.
Have some fun today!
